Maha Mehdi

aka Mmm

Programming Director

Maha is the headstrong woman around the block. The one with immaculate worksheets, colour-coded tabs, organized spaces, and a remarkable ability to bring order to chaos. She knows what’s necessary, what isn’t, and exactly how to get things done, systematically, thoroughly, and with quiet precision.

A graduate of Saint Joseph University of Beirut in Environment and Urban Planning, Maha has spent the last 20+ years professionally managing programmes, grants, partnerships, donor relations, budgets, evaluations, strategies, workshops, reports, crises, and, occasionally, her own sleep schedule.

Her career has taken her across humanitarian, development, environmental, and cultural sectors, which means she can comfortably move from discussing refugee protection frameworks to artist residencies, EU compliance, youth empowerment, climate resilience, or why the workshop facilitator still hasn’t sent the final invoice. Over the years, she has worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and United Nations Environment Programme, building deep expertise in programme management, donor coordination, monitoring and evaluation, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

She has successfully managed multi-country programmes, million-dollar grants, cross-cultural teams, high-level partnerships, impossible timelines, and enough Excel sheets to qualify for emotional compensation.

As a Lebanese-Norwegian, Maha combines Mediterranean adaptability with Scandinavian structure, a rare and powerful balance. Emotionally fuelled by bizri, operationally sustained by laks, and spiritually held together by açai bowls, Google Sheets, and last-minute problem solving.

A steady force of clarity and capability, she’s the one who quietly makes things work properly, and to the very end.
